The 11th National Conference on Environmental Chemistry was held in Harbin, from July 25 to July 29, 2022.
With the theme of "Innovative Environmental Science, Low-carbon Environmental Health", the conference set up 58 sessions on environmental safety, toxicology and health, environmental policy and other fields. Among them, the session on computational toxicology, machine learning and big data analysis was held on 26-27th.
On the evening of 26th, we invited more than one hundred and forty experts, teachers and students from the Computational Toxicology session to share the development of the Computational Toxicology session.
Ms. Zhang Aixi from the Ecological and Environmental Research Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Ms. Zhuang Shulin from Zhejiang University, Dr. Zhuang Hanping, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ElimTech, and Mr. Liu Chuanjiang, General Manager of ElimTech Heilongjiang, delivered speeches respectively.
The whole exchange dinner had a warm atmosphere and full communication between teachers and students, which fully demonstrated the enthusiasm of participants for computational toxicology research and their expectation for the development of computational toxicology section, especially the spirit and professionalism of young scholars of computational toxicology, which was very encouraging.
The Computational Toxicology Section of the Environmental Chemistry Congress was established in 2017 to conduct research and discussion on the simulation and prediction of environmental exposure and toxic effects of chemicals, environmental risk screening and analysis, quantitative constitutive relationships, big data analysis based on environmental health and machine learning, prediction software and database system development. As the first professional technical service provider of computational toxicology to enter the commercial field, Eslite Technology has witnessed the vigorous development of computational toxicology in China together since 2017. Taking industrial practice as its responsibility, ElimTech actively promotes the application of computational toxicology methods in industry and regulatory fields.
At present, Eslite Technology has had successful cases of using QSAR for toxicity prediction in the R&D and compliance of chemicals, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, food metabolites, cosmetic ingredients, etc. The reports issued have been officially recognized and approved in many countries around the world, such as China, EU, USA, Korea, Mexico, Russia, Australia, etc.
At the same time, we have actively promoted the international cooperation and exchange of computational toxicology, and have sent our technical staff to participate in international academic conferences on computational toxicology for many times to exchange the results of China's work in this field with foreign counterparts and regulatory agencies. In the past few years, we have also actively participated in the promotion of computational toxicology in China, founded the computational toxicology service platform, and participated in organizing national computational toxicology training courses for many times.
In the future, we will continue to participate in the application of computational toxicology, and strive to become a "pilot platform" for computational toxicology research, a bridge from scientific research to application, and to promote the development and application of computational toxicology in drug creation, food safety, ecology and environment, and chemical chemistry. At the same time, we welcome more young students to join us and work together for the cause of computational toxicology.
